R&D Team Lead

As the R&D Team Lead at Visitt, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our product and engineering culture. You'll lead a team of talented engineers, guiding them to deliver innovative solutions that redefine how our users manage their building operations. Beyond technical expertise, you'll foster collaboration across departments, optimize our systems, and ensure the team operates efficiently to achieve ambitious goals. Responsibilities
- Own end‑to‑end development: Manage projects, integrations, and technical initiatives, ensuring they’re delivered on time and to a high standard.
- Build a strong team: Mentor and support engineers, foster ownership and collaboration, and drive continuous improvement of engineering processes.
- Collaborate across functions: Work closely with founders, product, design, customer experience and sales to ship features that improve our users’ day‑to‑day workflows.
- Embed advanced backend technologies: Design and implement a micro‑services architecture, GraphQL APIs and Node.js solutions backed by MongoDB and Redis, running on AWS with Kubernetes.
- Optimize infrastructure and CI/CD: Use GitHub Actions and best practices to enhance performance, scalability and reliability, and streamline CI/CD pipelines.
- Lead security and compliance efforts: Support our SOC 2 compliance activities and uphold the highest security standards across our systems.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading teams or managing people in complex, cross‑functional projects.
- Full‑stack expertise with a backend orientation, including hands-on work with Node.js, GraphQL, MongoDB and Redis.
- Comfort with modern front-end technologies such as React (Hooks, Context) or similar frameworks; experience with Expo/React Native is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with scalable systems, microservices architectures, Kubernetes deployments and CI/CD pipelines on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS).
- Familiarity with GraphQL and public APIs; exposure to Apollo Client/Server is an advantage.
- Excellent leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence cross‑functional teams and drive results..
